78th Independece Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervor by the students of Shri Anantheshwara Higher Primary School and Vidyodaya Pre-University College at college premises.
Dr. Arjun Ballal, Senior Resident, Department of Medicine KMC Manipal, an alumni of the institution, was the Chief Guest of the programme. He unfurled the flag followed by National Anthem, Dhwaja Geetha and a patriotic song by the students of Shri Anantheshwara Higher Primary School. The songs were sung with great pride by the students. Dishitha Palan of class VII, Shri Anantheshwara Higher Primary School spoke about the importance of Independence day very enthusiastically and with great zeal.
In his address to the students, the Chief Guest Dr. Arjun Ballal highlighted the duties of the students towards their nation and also remembered the sacrifies of our brave martyrs. Sri Sandeep Kumar, the Principal of Vidyodaya Pre-University College briefed students about the importance of Independence day and urged them to be proud of their heritage.
Smt. Ranjana K, Vice Principal of Vidyodaya Pre-University College, and Smt. B.G. Shashirekha, Headmistress of Shri Anantheshwara Higher Primary School were also present for the programme.
Ananya of II E, the College Pupil Leader welcomed the gathering and Shanvi of VI Std., Shri Anantheshwara Higher Primary School proposed vote of thanks. Dhanvi R, a student of Class VII compered the programme. Sweets were distributed to the students on this occasion.
