Vidyodaya Pre-University College, Udupi organised a “Consumer Protection Act Awareness Programme” for First PUC Students on 18th December 2024, at the A/c auditorium of Vidyodaya Public School. The resource person of the programme was Sri Narasimha Nakshatri, President, Akhila Bharathiya Grahak Panchayat, Karnataka Region. He was also the Asst. Vice Chancellor of Bharathiya Engineering Science and Technology, BEST University.
The Main purpose of the programme was to spread the awareness regarding Consumer Protection Act 2019. The resource person Mr. Narasimha Nakshatri spoke on the various consumer rights and the effectiveness of the consumer court in redressing the grievances of the consumers.
He has also highlighted the various consumer rights like Right to safety, Right to Information, Right to Choose, Right to be heard, Right to Education, Right to Basic Needs, Right to live in Healthy Environment and so on. The programme was very constructive and informative.
The programme began with the consumer awareness song. The Principal, Sri Sandeep Kumar introduced the guest to the audience. The presence of the treasurer of our College Management Committee, Sri U. Padmaraja Acharya, made the occasion more momentous. Mrs. Anupama I., H.O.D of the Department of English compered the programme.
