College Annual Day Celebration was held on Saturday 25th November at 2.30 pm in the college premises. Chief Guest of the day was Prof. Sadashiva Rao, former Principal of Poornaprajna College, Udupi.
The programme was graced by the presence of His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Vishwaprasanna Theertha Swamiji of Pejawara Adhokshaja Matha, the President of Vidyodaya group of institutions.
The Principal and the College Pupil Leaders escorted the dignitaries to the dais. The “Chende’ beats was the attraction of the escorting.
The programme started with prayer followed by lighting the lamp by Paramapoojya Swamiji and other dignitaries.
It was followed by the welcoming of Swamiji by offering fruits and bouquet as a token of respect.
Smt. Niveditha Shetty, an alumni of Vidyodaya Pre-University College who had completed her UPSC examination was the guest of honour of the programme. She was felicitated by Parama Poojya Swamiji for her tremendous academic achievements.
Swamiji, in his address to the students said that the students should keep themselves focused and strive towards their goals with hard work. He also praised Mrs. Niveditha Shetty for her dedication and determination.
The Vice-Principal Mrs. Ranjana K. presented the annual report accentuating the progress of the college throughout the year both in academics and co-curricular arenas. This was followed by prize distribution and felicitation ceremony.
The meritorious students of the academic year 2023 were given cash prizes and the students who won district, zonal and state level prizes in various fields such as sports, cultural and literary were recognized and honoured. Sthuthi P. Shetty of I PUC was felicitated for her state level achievements in sports field.
A very inspirational speech was delivered by the Chief Guest of the day, Prof. Sadashiva Rao. He encouraged the students by his enlightening words. He told the students that education is not just undigested information but the very essence of education is concentration of mind. He also congratulated all the prize winners and the students.
Sri K. Ganesh Rao, Secretary, College Management Committee and also the president of the annual day programme, congratulated all the student achievers and motivated them to reach great heights.
Sri U. Padmaraj Acharya, Treasurer, College Management Committee handed over the memento to the Chief Guest as a token of love and gratitude.
Riya R. Kamath of II B, the President of students’ council welcomed the gathering. Avani of II A introduced the Chief Guest to the audience and Disha D.Karkera of II F, the Secretary of students’ council proposed vote of thanks.
The Formal Function of the Annual Day celebration was compered by Laura Emiliana Cutinha of II D. This was followed by the cultural events by the students.
